VividMap is a Flash based component for viewing interactive maps.
VividMap can read maps in several formats: SWF (for high quality zoom operations), JPEG, GIF. An XML is binded for each map. It serves for management of all objects on the map that can be managed.
For example, you have a simple drawn map of a city. And your goal is to fill it with dynamic objects that are placed on the map with appropriate coordinates to make a simple map, an interactive guide for a site visitor. You create specially formatted XML file with all objects, their descriptions, types and coordinates. Include this map + XML file into the map by simply editing settings.xml file in any text editor. And you get fully interractive map just in 1 hour!
The VividMap component lets you navigate throuth the map, measure distance between any map coordinates, quick jump on map within special featured objects list, turn on/off different information layers, print a map.
